I wanted to share with you my story about varicose veins. I had them when I was younger, like even as a young adult. I wasn’t that overweight, but I gained weight when I got on birth control. It wasn’t easy having these swollen purple looking things on my legs. I didn’t feel like I looked good in a bikini, so I decided to seek treatment. If you still needs treatment from specialist than try google by writing ‘vein specialists near me‘.
Treating Varicose Veins
I didn’t treat the veins for a while. I knew probably that unless I got my BMI down to normal, that they would just come back. However, after a specific time, I just bit the bullet and decided to get vein treatments. I knew from my mother, who also had varicose veins, that compression socks worked well. They’re fun to wear as well. They stay on well, and they look like school girl socks—Mine were infused with shea and aloe to get some moisturizing properties as well. You can purchase a spray now for compression socks that help with the comfort and gives it extra benefits. I wear them for the allotted amount of time, and sometimes more.
I noticed that my veins got a lot lighter. As well, there wasn’t this ugly branching pattern. It’s just a little line now. I think too if I wear my compression socks more often, that it all will fade. I liked the feel of my socks, as well. I would recommend getting the spray because it helps with itch. The socks are very tight, and they could get itchy if they don’t have moisturizing properties. It’s just an added benefit, but this is one of the vein treatments that is like a luxury.
The alternatives to this do not look good. I wouldn’t want to have surgery, so I hope I can be more consistent with my socks. Also, I could try medicine. I do already take a lot of medication, but if it were something that worked, I would be open to trying it. I would have to make sure it didn’t counteract my other medications. All in all, I’m excited to continue on my vein, no pun intended, of good health. I would love to be healthier too, so I hope weight loss will put less pressure on my veins.
There’s a lot you can do about varicose veins. I’ve learned they can be a result of other conditions, such as tumours and pregnancy. They’re not the worst thing in the world, but you want to be proactive to take action before they become a more severe problem.
